What's Going on in the FACS Department at SHS?

Infant simulators went out last week in Child Development and will continue the rest of this month. Students are assigned a baby simulator from Friday morning until Monday morning.  They are required to care for the "infant" around the clock.

In Child Development students are studying objective 3.01 which is Understanding Brain Development.  Students discussed the parts of the brain and determined what activity happened in what region, and labeled those areas on a diagram. Students also made brain caps that included labels for specific tasks like seeing, reading and writing.

In Interior Design Studio students are working on Section 4 of our Performance Based Measure and doing our 3D floor plans and accessory boards and putting our links on our websites.

Lots of hands-on, real-world learning.  That's what CTE is all about!
