Animal Science Students Dissect Perch

The students in Mr. Allen’s Animal Science II class got to dive deep into their Perch Dissection Unit at SHS. They learned about internal and external anatomy and had to ID the location, name and the function of each part of the perch. They also got to remove eggs and scales from the fish and explore them under a microscope. They had to count the rings on a fish’s scales to age the fish. They also removed the egg sac which can contain thousands of tiny eggs.

Next up will be fetal pig dissection.
