Students at FHS in Mrs. Brown’s Principles of Family and Human Services classes learned about diversity with apples.
On the inside there are more similarities than differences. 😊
Students in Child Development class at SHS are learning about fine vs gross motor skills. I wanted the class to do an activity that would teach them a skill and understand the topic at the same time. I decided to teach a life skill---how to sew buttons. The class had fun using their fingers and some felt like cats with yarn; loops, tangles, and knots! A few said their hands got tired. All can now replace a missing button. Yay! - Ms. Ferrelli
Students in Mr. Tutterow’s Core Construction class are making birdhouses. This project allows them to demonstrate they can safely use both hand and power tools and read plans.
Another good example of hands-on learning in CTE!
Food and Nutrition 1 students enjoyed a cheese and whole grain cracker bar with non-dairy beverages that broadened their food palate. -Ms. Ferrelli
I was surprised that a number of students had
never eaten sweet potatoes. So, I baked some and set-up a mini toppings bar. NC
is the #1 grower of sweet potatoes which are very nutritious and delicious! I
love it when the palette broadens! – Ms. Ferrelli
