SMS Exploring Business and Entrepreneurship Students Create Food Trucks

Students in Mrs. Matthew’s Exploring Business and Entrepreneurship are working on Food Truck projects. 

The main components to this project are:

                ·         Basic concept and information

·         Business Plan

·         Website and other social media outlets

·         Menu presentation

·         The model of food truck to display

SHS Health Science Students Learn Life-saving Lessons

Starmount’s Health Science 1 classes are learning how to respond in emergency situations. A big thank you goes out to Yadkin County Emergency Services for helping to educate our students!

Food & Nutrition Students at SHS Learn Real-life Lessons

Food & Nutrition 1 students learned to calibrate a probe thermometer and practice temperature control to boil and simmer.

To practice food safety and prevent Foodborne Illness, Food & Nutrition I students practiced organizing their groceries (just packaging J) by RTE or cook-to temperatures in their imaginary refrigerators.

Food & Nutrition 2 students sampled a number of international foods such as Indian Spinach & Paneer, French Brie, Jamaican ginger ale, Italian eggplant parmigiana, Pad Thai, Mid-eastern hummus, and Vietnamese Pho. 

Adobe Video at Starmount High

Mr. Wagoner’s Adobe Video students are working on a project “The Hall Faceoff”.  Students had to create a storyboard of the shots they were going to shoot before they started filming.  Students are loving the actual filming part of the project!
