Duke Power Associates Present to Drone Technology I Students

Kevin Gurley (Pilot/Utility Aviation), Jackson Rollins (Director-Unmanned Aerial Systems) and Aron Wallace (UAS Pilot/Nuclear Program Lead), were guest speakers in Mr. Rodney Wagoner’s Drone Technology I class at Starmount High on October 24, 2023.

Students received first-hand knowledge regarding utility aviation and aerial systems, as well as job opportunities that exist for drone pilots in the energy field.

Students in the Drone Technology I course are given the opportunity to earn their CFR 14 Part 107 UAS Remote Pilot Certification during the course.

Thank you to Duke Power and their associates who were willing to spend some time educating our students on opportunities available in this field of work!
