Forbush FFA Places in Land Judging Contest

Friday and Saturday, November 11th & 12th the NC FFA Land Judging Contest took place in Louisburg, NC. Friday is an educational practice day for students to familiarize themselves with the soil conditions that can be found in the surrounding area with Saturday being the contest day.

On Saturday our Forbush FFA team managed to place 5th in the state out of the 20 teams that competed! The top 5 teams from NC are eligible to represent NC at the National Land & Range Judging Contest in Oklahoma City, OK in May!

Team members include:

Jordan Hobson who placed 9th in the state out of 75 competitors in the senior division!

Vance Buelin placed 17th in the state!

Baylee Myers placed 21st in the state!

Teams consist of 3-4 members with the top 3 scores counting. Most of the time a team of 4 is best because there is always someone to fall back on. The fact that these 3 students all had to pull their own weight and compete against some students who have participated in this event since middle school is incredible!

Congratulations to these students on their success!
