Business, Finance and Marketing Education at Forbush High

Angie Funk is the Business, Finance and Marketing Education teacher at Forbush High School.  Mrs. Funk has been with YCS for over 26 years.  Mrs. Funk also serves as the DECA Advisor.

BFM courses at FHS include Marketing and Sport and Event Marketing I & II.  Students learn real-world critical thinking skills as well as presentation skills as they complete the required work in these courses.

Mrs. Funk has also served students at the Yadkin Success Academy teaching a virtual Business Essentials course.

 










Agriculture Education at Forbush High School

Candice Wall is the Agricultural Education teacher at Forbush High. Ms. Wall has been with YCS for over 26 years and previously served in school administration.  She also serves as the FFA Advisor.

Agriculture courses at FHS include Agriscience Applications, Animal Science I, Animal Science II - Food Animal and Horticulture I.

Ms. Wall’s students are involved in hands-on learning in and out of the classroom and through FFA membership and involvement in community events.












Agriculture Education at Starmount High School

Cody Allen and Marty Andrews are Agricultural Education teachers at Starmount High School.  Mr. Allen has been at Starmount High School for almost 19 years.  He also serves as the FFA Advisor.   Mr. Andrews just came onboard this spring.

Agriculture courses at SHS include Agriscience Applications, Animal Science I, Animal Science II – Food Animal, Ag. Mechanics I and Ag. Mechanics II – Small Engines.

This week students have been working on the Greenhouse that Mr. Allen secured a grant for and cleaning off some land near the greenhouse in hopes of some additional future learning labs.


























Guest Speakers Visit the Automotive Service Classes at Forbush High

Mr. Schult with Tulsa Welding and Mr. Klapmeyer from Forsyth Tech recently presented to the Automotive Service students at FHS.

Mr. Schult is with Tulsa Welding.  They offer programs in Welding, HVAC and Electrical.  Tulsa Welding is one of the most well-known welding schools in the country and boasts a job placement rate of over 90%.

Mr. Klapmeyer from Forsyth Tech spoke about their programs which include Automotive, Diesel, Aviation, Motorcycle, Welding and Fabrication technologies.

Please help celebrate our CTE teachers and students during the month of February, which is officially declared as Career and Technical Education Month.

FHS Students Learn About Farm Rescue

Principles of Family and Human Services classes along with Horticulture and Animal Science classes at Forbush High enjoyed a presentation by Kevin Smitherman. Mr. Smitherman was able to volunteer with the non-profit organization Farm Rescue. Farm Rescue aids farmers in the Mid-West who have suffered hardships to plant and harvest their crops.

The students learned about non-profit organizations and volunteerism.
