Surry Community College Hosts Job Fair

Students from Forbush, Starmount and Yadkin Success Academy attended a Job Fair on March 19^th at Surry Community College.

Businesses were represented in such fields as Health Care, Food Service, Engineering, Public Services, Manufacturing, Military and others.

Thanks to SCC for inviting our students!  Also, thank you to Mrs. Hayes for organizing the trip for Forbush and Starmount (and for driving) and thank you to Mr. Becker for accompanying the students from YSA.

Forsyth Tech Representative Visits Starmount High

John Klapmere, a representative of Forsyth Technical Community College, spoke to Mr. Martin’s Automotive Service classes on March 4^th.

Programs offered at Forsyth Tech include Automotive Systems Technology (includes a specialized track for Toyota T-TEN training), Collision Repair & Refinishing Technology: (specializing in body repair and painting), Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology (training for servicing medium and heavy-duty trucks), Race Car Technology (part of the Richard Childress program for high-performance vehicle maintenance).

UNOH Visits Starmount High

George Cheynet from the University of Northwestern Ohio presented to the automotive classes at SHS on Thursday, February 26^th.

UNOH offers programs in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, High Performance Motorsports, and much more.
