Forbush Students Earn ServSafe Credential

Three students in Ms. Saunders’ Food and Nutrition II class earned their ServSafe Food Manager certification this semester.

This certification verifies that a manager, or a person in charge, has sufficient food safety knowledge to protect the public from foodborne illness.

Pictured below, along with Mr. Tomlin, are Ivan Sanchez-Hernandez, Christian Sapp and William Martin.

Marketing Competitive Events Conference (MCEC)

NC DECA's District Competition (district 6) hit a new attendance record today.  Increasing by more than 300 students this year, our District 6 Competition saw over 800 students competing today. (We had to move to one of the Koury Convention Center's bigger ballrooms this year.)

At the awards session, they announced that the Principles of Marketing event was the largest event in the history of any DECA district competitions in history and we had a finalist!!!!

All of our students did very well, improved their interview skills through practical application (role-plays), and had lots of fun!  FHS was well-represented.  Below are students receiving metals.

East, Madelyn - AAM: Apparel & Accessories Marketing Series - TOP ROLE PLAY

Brendle, Hartley
- PMK: Principles of Marketing - TOP ROLE PLAY and OVERALL FINALIST!!  (This was the event that set the record today for the largest in DECA Districts History.)

In the Sport and Entertainment Marketing Event, Cullen Summers missed the Top Role Play Award by just 2 points!

Congratulations FHS DECA!
