Caring Career Development in Yadkin County Schools

Mrs. Audrey Hayes is the Career Development Coordinator for Yadkin County Schools.  Mrs. Hayes organizes the internship experiences and oversees students participating in the CTE Internship program for all Career pathways. 

Mrs. Hayes is also the Special Populations Coordinator and works closely with all CTE teachers to ensure that all students have their needs met to be successful in their CTE courses.

Middle Grades CTE Education

Bryan Buckingham, Russ Caudill and Kelly Hicks are CTE teachers at Forbush Middle School.

Course offerings at FMS include Career Exploration courses, Coding in Minecraft, Computer Science Discoveries and Office Productivity.

Lucas Nixon and Isaac Rose are CTE teachers at Starmount Middle School.

Course offerings at SMS feature the Career Exploration courses and Keyboarding and Basic Word Processing.

Both Middle Schools utilize Paxton-Patterson Career Exploration Labs to give students a sampling of various career clusters and pathways. 

Hands-on Trade and Industrial Education in Yadkin County Schools

Jerry Fincannon, Sandy Martin and Jeffrey Tutterow teach courses in the Trade and Industrial program area at Starmount High.  Mr. Martin and Mr. Tutterow are SkillsUSA advisors. 

T & I pathways and courses at Starmount include Carpentry (Carpentry I and II), Transportation, Distribution and Logistics (Automotive Service Fundamentals, Automotive Service I and II, Drone Technology Fundamentals, Drone Technology I and II), and Game Art Design (3D Modeling and Animation, Game Art and Design.)

Jay Brendle, Jason Cockerham, Daniel Hutchens, Keith Senter and James Walker teach courses in the Trade and Industrial program area at FHS.  Mr. Senter is also the SkillsUSA advisor.

T & I pathways and courses at Forbush include Carpentry (Carpentry I and II), Drafting Architectural (Drafting I and Drafting II – Architectural) Drafting Engineering (Drafting I and Drafting II – Engineering), Electrical Trades (Electrical Trades I and II), Manufacturing (Electronics I and II), Transportation, Distribution and Logistics (Automotive Service Fundamentals, Automotive Service I and II).

Helpful Health Sciences Education in Yadkin County Schools

Natalie Matthews teaches courses in the Health Sciences program area at Starmount High.  She is also the HOSA advisor.

Adrianna Sloan teaches courses in the Health Sciences program area at Forbush High School.  Mrs. Sloan is also the HOSA Advisor for the FHS chapter.

Courses in the Healthcare Professional pathway (Foundations of Health Science, Health Science I and II) are offered at both schools.

Fabulous Family and Consumer Science Education in Yadkin County Schools

Maggie Sizemore, Jolie Saunders and Lawanda Brown teach courses in the Family and Consumer Science program area at Forbush High School. 

FACS pathways and courses at FHS include Food and Nutrition (Food and Nutrition I and II) and Apparel and Textile Production (Apparel and Textile Production I and II).   The Principles of Family and Human Services course is also offered at FHS.

Cody Allen teaches courses in the Agricultural Education program area at Starmount High School.  He also serves as the FFA (Future Farmers of America) Advisor.

Candice Wall teaches courses in the Agricultural Education program area at Forbush High School.  She also serves as the FFA advisor.
