Forbush HOSA Competes at Regionals
Forbush HOSA competed at the HOSA Regional Conference this past Saturday at West Wilkes High School. Most of these events require preparation ahead of time and some include written information and speeches. Special thanks to Abby for helping with speeches and the writing components!

to compete at HOSA SLC in March.

SHS Health Science II Students Learn Job Seeking Skills
Guest speakers from Goodwill Industries visited Natalie Matthews’ Health Science II class to teach about cover letters and resumés. They will return in December to help with mock interviews.

SHS HOSA Students Compete at Regionals
SHS HOSA students competed at regionals Saturday, November 16th at West Wilkes High School. Three students finished in the top 5 competitors and two were top 10 finishers.

"Career Chats" at FHS
Students at Forbush High School had the opportunity to meet with Guest Speakers in the fields of Veterinary Science, Fire Fighting, and Cosmetology. They learned about a typical day on the job, the education and training required for various jobs within the career field, and what the general responsibilities might be.

FHS Students Learn Fire Safety
Ricky Leonard, Yadkin County Fire Marshall, and his staff
spent the day at FHS with their Family and Consumer Sciences department.
Principles of Family and Human Services and Food and Nutrition I students
learned about fire safety in the home. All students in each class experienced hands-on
fire extinguisher training.

"Who You Gonna Call?" Forbush High Students!
Mr. Walker, Mr. Cockerham and Ms. Wall’s students get hands on experience demolishing and rebuilding their agricultural barn. The facility is being moved to create a permanent fenced area for livestock.

Christmas parade float. The youth at his church will decorate it.

Careers on Wheels
5th grade students from across Yadkin County had the chance to see a number of different vehicles and trucks during the Surry Community College / Surry-Yadkin Works "Careers on Wheels" event, held Friday, November 8 on the Yadkin Campus of Surry Community College.
