Adobe Students at SHS Earn Credentials

The Reality of Money

Students in the Principles of Family and Human Services classes at Forbush High School participated in the Reality of Money program sponsored by the State Employees Credit Union. Roger Cook and Kelly Hicks from the Yadkinville branch of the NCSECU spent the afternoon sharing information with students about credit scores and budgeting for real life.

SkillsUSA State Conference

Members of Starmount High School’s SkillsUSA chapter attended the SkillsUSA State Conference April 23^rd – April 25^th.  This is a great learning opportunity for these students.

Even though no students placed in the top 5, Mr. Martin commented that this was a great group of students, and he was very proud of them!

Safelite Auto Visits Starmount High

On Friday May 10^th, representatives from Safelite Auto glass came to Starmount to demonstrate how to replace windshields in vehicles.  They also discussed the different careers in the automotive world with our students.

Spring Interns Give Exit Presentations

Students that completed a CTE Internship this semester gave their Exit Presentations last week to several YCS staff members and community leaders.

The presentations were very informative and the students did very well sharing their internship experiences!

Touch-a-Truck

5th grade students from across Yadkin County had the chance to see numerous trucks and vehicles during the “Touch a Truck” event, held Thursday, May 2 on the Surry Community College Yadkin Campus.
