Credentials Earned at Starmount High

Students pictured below have earned their Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Premiere Pro credential in Mr. Wagoner’s Adobe Visual and Adobe Video courses.





Starmount HS Animal Science students In Mr. Cody Allen's class recently completed the Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) credential.  This course taught methods for raising your cattle in accordance with BQA fundamentals. Topics involve cattle health, stockmanship, marketing, safety, emergency planning, and meat quality. They are pictured below.



The students below have earned their OSHA 10 Certification in Mr. Boles Construction Core classes.

Automotive Students Visit Penske Racing and NASCAR Tech

Students in Mr. Senter's classes at Forbush High School visited Penske Racing and NASCAR Tech this week.  During their visit, the students were able to tour facilities and witness STEM practices.




























 

Additional Winner for SHS at SkillsUSA Competition

Congratulations to Hannah Melton from Starmount High School on her 1st Place finish at the SkillsUSA competition in the Poster category.

An updated decision to the Poster competition was made and new winners were notified this week.

Her poster is below and highlights the talents of many teachers at Starmount.

SHS SkillsUSA Members Successful at State Competition

Congratulations to Bryson Phillips and Mavrick Adkins on their successful performances at the SkillsUSA State competition.

Bryson placed 3rd in Motorcycle Service Technology

Mavrick placed 1st in Plumbing and qualifies for National competition in Atlanta

 A special thanks to Mr. Sandy Martin, Mr. Jeffrey Tutterow and Ms. Vanessa Swaim for accompanying the students on this trip.

SHS Holds National Technical Honor Society Induction

Starmount High School held their annual NTHS induction ceremony on May 4th.  Five current members and eleven new inductees participated in the ceremony.

Current members, Emily Brewer, Adan Lakey, Camryn Shore, Chloe Shore and McKinley Wood, received their graduation cords during the ceremony.

New Inductees received their membership certificates.  

New inductees are MaShyia Amelia Berry, Jadyn Breigh Haynes, Mallorie Louise Hemric, Evelyn Jimenez-Ocampo, Dayanara Lopez-Guerra, Darenger Cole Nixon, Hailey Rodriguez-Jiminez, Hailey Shepard, Emma Raye Smith, Madison Triplett and Allison Vazquez-Hernandez.

Advisors for the National Technical Honor Society are Ms. Ferrelli, Ms. Trivette and Ms. Pardue.

Members and their guests enjoyed refreshments prepared by the Food & Nutrition II students following the ceremony.
