Starmount HS Ag Department students enjoyed the "Agriculture Day" on April 22 at Surry Community College (SCC). The students toured industry booths, played games, and learned about SCC's Agriculture programs. Each booth had live animals, plants, and interactive hands-on activities. It was a great opportunity to broaden their appreciation for Agriculture as well as learn about the educational programs at SCC.

Microsoft Credentials Earned at SHS
Students in Mrs. Nicole Pardue's Microsoft Word & PowerPoint class earned their Microsoft Office Specialist certification in Microsoft Word this week.
Isabelle Moody obtained both the Basic and Expert level certifications.
Congratulations to these students and to Mrs. Pardue on their accomplishments!

Fake Wounds and First Aid
Students in Mrs. Erika Triplett's Health Science I class created fake wounds during class. Various wound types were lacerations, abrasions, burns and puncture wounds. Students then identified the various types of wounds and administered the appropriate First Aid treatment.
Some wounds were quite realistic!
