Student Interns Gaining Experience

Caroline Wood, a student at Starmount High School, is currently participating in an internship with Mrs. Freed in 1st grade at Jonesville Elementary School.  Future YCS teacher in the making!


Melia Mosteller, is currently participating in an internship at Tri-County Rehab & Sports for the Physical Therapy Assistant Program at Surry Community College.





Lawyer Jacob Wagoner Speaks to Business Law Students

 Lawyer Jacob Wagoner spoke to Mr. Rodney Wagoner’s Business Law class on August 27th.  He spoke about criminal court and court proceedings, gave examples and discussed what his job entails.

Starmount High School FFA Fundraiser

Starmount High School's Future Farmers of America chapter is selling apples as a fundraiser for their club through October.  They currently have GALA and will be getting other varieties over the next few weeks.  Prices are as follows.   

1/2 Peck (15 apples) $5     1 peck (30 apples) $10     Bushel Box (126 apples) $30

Universal Technical Institute Visits Starmount High School

 UTI presented to students in the Automotive and Agricultural Mechanics programs at Starmount High School on Tuesday, August 24. UTI offers training in Automotive, Diesel, and Motorcycle Mechanics as well as Welding Technology and more.

National Skills USA Competition

Kaleb Hodge from Starmount High School won First Place Gold in Motorcycle Technology this summer in the National SkillsUSA contest this year.  He won scholarship money, tools and other prizes.  Congratulations to Kaleb for this major accomplishment!



Two students from Forbush High School also placed in the National SkillsUSA competition.
